It's important to PWRstation to help our customers preserve their privacy while they enjoy all that the Internet has to offer.
 

We believe that your business belongs to no one else. Your privacy is important to you and to us. That's why we protect the information you share with us. To protect your privacy, PWRstation follows a number of principles that are consistent with international privacy and customer data protection practices.

• We will not sell or give your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address or any other information to anyone.

• We will use state-of-the-art security measures to protect your information from unauthorized users.
   

NOTE

We will ask you for information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Typically, this information is requested when you create a registration ID on the site or when you download free software, enter a contest, order e-mail newsletters or join a limited-access premium site. We use your personal information for four main purposes:

• To make it easier for you to use the site without having to re-enter information.

• To help you quickly find software, services or information.

• To help us create the most relevant content for you.

• To notify you of product updates, special offers, updated information and other new services from PWRstation.
   

CONSENT

If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of pwrstation.com. However, you will not be able to access areas that require registration.

If you choose to register, you will be able to select the types of information you wish to receive from us by subscribing to various services, such as our electronic newsletters. If you do not wish us to send you further offers regarding PWRstation products, programs, events or services by e-mail, postal mail or telephone, you may select the option indicating that you do not wish to receive commercial messages from PWRstation.
 

PWRstation occasionally allows other companies to offer its registered customers information about their products and services by postal mail only. If you do not wish to receive such offers, you may select the option indicating that you do not wish to receive commercial information from third parties.
 

ACCESS

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and up to date. You can view and update this information at any time at the Visitor Centre. You will be able to
 

• View and modify personal information you have already provided to us.

• tell us whether you would like us to send you commercial information or whether you would like third parties to send you their offers by post

• sign up for electronic newsletters about our services and products

• Register. Once you've registered, you won't need to do so again. Wherever you go on pwrstation.com, your information stays with you.
   

SECURITY

PWRstation has taken significant steps to protect the security of your personal information and to ensure that your choices about how it is used are respected. We take significant precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction.

We guarantee that your e-commerce transactions are 100% safe and secure. When you place orders or access your personal account information, you use SSL secure server software, which encrypts your personal information before it is sent over the Internet. SSL is one of the most secure encryption technologies available.

What's more, your transactions are guaranteed by the Fair Credit Billing Act. This law stipulates that your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 in the event of fraudulent use of your credit card. If your bank holds you liable for an amount less than or equal to $50, we will cover your liability provided that the unauthorized and fraudulent use of your credit card is not due to any fault on your part and is the result of purchases made through our secure server. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

PWRstation strictly protects the security of your personal information and respects your choices regarding its use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction.

Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your permission, except under the conditions explained above. Within the company, data is stored on password-controlled servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in Switzerland or in any other country where PWRstation, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are located.

You also have an important role to play in protecting your information. No one can see or change your personal information without knowing your username and password.

 

NOTICE TO PARENTS

Parents or guardians: we want to help you protect your children's privacy. We encourage you to talk to your children about safe and responsible use of their personal information when using the Internet.

The PWRstation site does not publish content intended for children. However, if you are concerned that your children may provide PWRstation with personal information without your consent, PWRstation offers a Kids account. This account allows parents to give their consent to the collection, use and sharing of their children's (aged 12 and under) personal information online.

 

APPLICATION OF PROVISIONS

If, for any reason, you believe that PWRstation has not adhered to these principles, please notify us by e-mail at privacy@pwrstation.com, and we will do our best to determine and correct the problem as soon as possible. Please ensure that the words “Privacy Policy” appear in the subject line.

 

ELECTRONIC PRODUCT REGISTRATION

When you purchase and install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. When you do so, we merge your registration information with any information you have already given us (we call this information your personal profile). If you have not yet registered with us, we will create a personal profile from the information you provided when you registered your product. If you wish to review or update this information, you can visit the Profile Center, click on Update Profile and modify your personal profile information. If you haven't yet created a registration ID, we'll ask you to do so. Only you will then be able to access your information.

 

CUSTOMER PROFILES

As mentioned above, each registered customer has a unique personal profile. A unique personal identification number is assigned to each profile, enabling us to ensure that only you can access your profile.

When you register, we create your profile, assign it a personal identification number, and then send this personal identification number back to your hard disk in the form of a cookie, which is a very small piece of code. This code is yours. It allows you to download free software, order free newsletters and visit premium sites without having to fill in registration forms with information you've already provided. Even if you change computer, you won't have to re-register - just use your registration ID to identify yourself.

 

WHAT WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION YOU GIVE US

When you join us, you provide us with your contact details, including your e-mail address. We use this information to send you updates about your order, questionnaires to measure your satisfaction with our service and announcements about new services we are offering. When you place an order, we ask for your credit card number and billing address. We use this information only to bill you for the product(s) you ordered at that time. For your convenience, we retain billing information in case you wish to place another order with us, but we do not use this information again without your permission.

We sometimes hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, mailing and delivering purchases, answering customer questions about products or services, sending postal mail and processing event registrations. We will only provide these companies with the information they need to provide the service, and they are prohibited from using this information for any other purpose.

PWRstation will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on PWRstation or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of PWRstation and its family of websites; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of PWRstation, its websites, or the public.
